CHALLENGE
While the management has a separate maintenance department that takes care of inspection and quality control of various heavy equipments involved, the following challenges had started arising with increased workload:
- Difficulty in ensuring inspection of each type of equipment before their allocation for specific tasks.
- Increased safety risk due to ambiguous mechanisms of quality control and check
- Noticeable delays in timely maintenance and service of equipment
- Lack of integrated process that could facilitate real-time monitoring and control by a supervisor and management
- No uniformity between the quality control process, leading to lack of visibility on accepted standards and best practices.
THE GOAL
The main objective of the solution was to ensure timely maintenance of various equipment and real time data driven processes for quality control. The solution would streamline the entire inspection process and bring in much-needed transparency. Moreover, this step would also complement the organisations’ overall goal of achieving complete digital transformation and automating routine tasks with smart tools.
The Results
Ranosys undertook the responsibility of understanding the vision of APSEZ with respect to its Equipment Inspection System (EIS) and the roadblocks they were facing in achieving it. After a thorough assessment and consultation, we developed an EIS digital solution using OutSystems that would replace their legacy process. Some of its key features are –
